During the upgrade it tells you to uninstall HP ProtectTools. However after upgrading, Microsoft Hello is not giving me options to set or use a fingerprint to login nor does the camera option show (I wasn't expecting the camera to work for Hello Facial recognition). Checking device manager the biometics and finger print drivers are there and installed. So I googled a bit and found a KB/Win10 support article where they Microsoft suggests installing the software in compatibility mode for Windows 7.

So I installed it and the finger print reader worked. However it changes the login screen to give you the finger print reader option. Upon logout, all you will get is a spinning circle and a flashing blue screen. It is unable to load the login screen.

I had to boot into safe mode, hack the registry to enable the MSIServer so I could start the Windows installer service to uninstall it in safe mode. TLDR: HP protect tools will fubar your login and cause epileptic seizures due to flashing blue screen.
